“Passage Through Memory is an evocation of a moment when the visible world dissolves and something interior begins to open—quietly, luminously, without resistance. This painting is not a depiction of place, but of passage: a crossing between memory and presence, between what has been felt and what is still becoming.
Layers of incandescent reds and burning oranges gather like living matter—earth, garden, body—while cooler blues and shadowed depths hold the weight of memory beneath. Above, the atmosphere loosens, softens, and opens into a pale, almost sacred light. It is here that the painting breathes—where form gives way to something less defined, more eternal.
I've tried to create a sense of being received rather than arriving. The sky does not sit above the landscape—it unfolds from within it, as if memory itself has parted to reveal a quiet, internal horizon.
This work inhabits the space between the seen and the remembered, where color becomes emotion, and light becomes a form of recognition. It asks not where we are, but how we return—to ourselves, to the past, and to the fleeting moment when both dissolve into something infinite.” ~AP
