“Laguna Niguel is an exploration of blue—its depth, movement, and quiet emotional resonance. Built through layers of acrylic, the surface shifts between luminous blues and deeper currents, with touches of blue-green and white that suggest light moving across water.
Through brushing, layering, and texture, I sought to create a sense of motion within stillness—an atmosphere that feels both expansive and intimate. The painting is rooted in the language of the ocean, yet remains abstract, allowing memory and feeling to guide each viewer’s experience.
For me, blue is a place of calm and reflection. In this work I invite the eye to wander across its changing tones, discovering small moments of light and depth that echo the rhythm and tranquility of the sea.” ~AP
